STICKER TEAM:
A day or two before the event
Description: You will assist in removing stickers from fruit provided at the festivals to make them easier to compost at the end of the event. This generally takes 1-2 hours depending on the number of people helping and the fruit provided!
EVENT HYPE CREW:
Description: We have noticed that some buckets at these events are coming back low on compost or empty and because of the great energy of our Triathlon volunteers, we wanted to try out a new method of educating the people working booths at these events. You will be driving from course stations before racers come through, educating about why the buckets are there and what can go in them, then heading back to the beginning to check in with each station after the large clump of racers has passed to see how everything went, get feedback, and if you are interested, do a bit of dumpster diving!
This is a new position so we aren’t positive how it'll work and might be a bit rocky the first few times but we are hopeful it’ll produce better results on compost return at these bigger events.

Compost Collection at Pumpkin Patch Festival
Pumpkin Patch Festival is a fun-filled weekend! Free admission. Live music, carnival rides, arts & crafts vendors, face painting, pumpkin & scarecrow displays, a magician, kids’ games & activities, raffles, food and fun! Plus LOTS of corn.
CCCDC will be stationed on the festival grounds collecting food scraps. Keep an eye out for our stations and give to the cause with your corn cobs!

Join the fun on August 21st at Murphy Park Pasture in Egg Harbor
You are invited to the Land Trust's Annual Gathering on Friday, August 21st from 2-5 PM at the Murphy Park Pasture in Egg Harbor.
The Annual Gathering is the Door County Land Trust's biggest event of the year. On this day, our conservation community gathers to celebrate the year's successes and raise funds towards the mission to protect more of Door County's lands and waters forever.

Community Tree Planting in Peninsula State Park

Due to construction, the entrance from the Fish Creek (Julie’s) side of the park will likely be closed on Wednesday morning. Therefore, volunteers will need to enter the golf course and take an alternate route via interior park roads to access Nelson’s Point from the North. This means that everyone attending will need to add 15-20 minutes to their drive time compared to arriving at the Fish Creek entrance. Open to Gibraltar 3rd-5th graders. Maximum of 12 students.
All classes are held at PenArt. We’re still confirming whether Gibraltar students will be transported to PenArt via the Y bus or escorted on foot. Either way, they will be guided safely to PenArt and ready for pickup at 5:15pm.
Tuition: $200

Winter Planet Potluck
Join us for our Winter Planet Potluck.
Held seasonally, bring a dish to pass for an evening of community, seasonal treats, and inspiration!
Attendees are invited to bring a dish and a place setting. The person with the best place setting will get a prize.
Participants will arrive between 4:30 and 5 pm for a 5:30 pm potluck.

Earth + Climate Arts Lab - Home School Student Program: Winter Session
Session Dates:
Thursdays, January 8 - 29, 2026 | 1 - 3pm
Open to Homeschool students ages 8 - 13. Maximum of 12 students per session. All classes are held at PenArt. Drop-off and pick-up is at PenArt.
Tuition: $100 for one student or $175 for two siblings or $250 for three siblings
